At Maritime Labels & Packaging we offer a larger selection of substrates for our digital printing service than commonly offered from other suppliers. Offering a larger selection is due to our unique Lexi-Coat custom priming process which allows us to broaden the range.
Priming is the process of top-coating the substrate which allows for better ink adhesion to paper. Traditional Flexography printing also requires this process for preparing the surface of some substrates. In most cases substrate suppliers offer a limited selection of pre-primed substrates for the digital printing process, reducing the variety of substrates that printers choose to offer. Our in-house priming department is able to prime 90% of the available substrates that are currently available within the industry.
We are always testing and priming new substrates for our digital process. Our priming department also offers the service of pre-priming various substrates for other label suppliers using digital printing technology. Contact us for further information.
